About Us

We (Alex and Brian Tinsman) founded Angel Quest in 2005 after the loss of our baby boy Spirit. Throughout this time many people reached out with acts of kindness. They brought meals, offered to baby-sit our daughter, and shared their own stories to let us know that life would become better with time. These acts were so small, yet made a big difference.

This experience helped us realize that each of us goes through painful times in life, and each of us will have the opportunity to help others going through their own dark times. Reaching out in this way helps the receiver know that others care, but it also helps heal the giver as well. We were amazed by the impact of kindness and how it creates healing and love in everyone it touches.

This inspired us to create Angel Quest: simple random acts of kindness on cards. Our goal is to promote these acts of kindness as a hobby that everyone can enjoy.

Angel Quest is our way of finding meaning in our loss. If not for our son’s short life, we would never have been inspired to make this idea reality. It amazes us that one tiny life could help bring so many acts of kindness into the world

We donate 10% of revenue after expenses to children's health charities.

Who Are We?

Alexandra Tinsman
Owner, President

As brand marketing manager at Wizards of the Coast, Alex was in charge of marketing programs for Magic: the Gathering, a $100 million/yr. collectible card brand with one of the world’s best consumer loyalty programs. There, she managed the marketing and branding for the launches of numerous new product releases.

Brian Tinsman
Product Development Lead

With nine years of toy and game product development experience, Brian has led the creation of dozens of hobby products through all stages of the business cycle. He has been involved in launching new products worth a total of over $70 million in revenue. Brian has a BA from UC Berkeley (1994) and an MBA from the University of Washington with a focus in entrepreneurship (1998).

Terese Nielsen
Art Director

Terese is one of the foremost female artists in the fantasy art and illustration field. A graduate of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, Terese has created covers, cards, and art for books, fantasy games, video games and others, including 3DO, Sierra, Mythic, Wizards of the Coast, Del Rey, Tor, and Random House.
